Job Title - IT SUPPORT ENGINEER
Industry - PLASTIC
Reporting To - GOUP IT DIRECTOR
Department - IT DEPARTMENT
Location - TEMA FREE ZONE, GHANA
Experience - 5 – 7 YEARS
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. IT infrastructure and Maintenance
· Oversee the operation and maintenance of the organizations IT infrastructure, including servers, networks and databases
· Ensure high availability and reliability of all IT systems.
· Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively
· Must have knowledge in networking, configuring and Vlan
2. Technical support
· Provide advanced technical support to end- users and resolve complex IT issues
· Manage escalations and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests
· Develop and maintain documentation for IT systems and procedures
· Firewall ( Sophos/ Microtik desired)
· Installation of IP phones – Avaya
· Maintenance of the core switch
3. Project management
· Lead and manage IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
· Coordinate with other departments to gather requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs
· Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for IT projects.
· Maintenance of IT assets
4. Security and compliance
· Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the organizations IT assets
· Ensure compliance with Industry standard, regulations and internal policies
· Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
· Maintenance of attendance and door access systems
· Hyper V server maintenance and back ups
· Managing CCTV operations
5. System and Networking Administration
· Perform routine maintenance and upgrades of hardware and software
· Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls
· Monitor network traffic and optimize performance
6. Training and Development
o Mentor and train junior IT staff, providing, guidance and support
o Stay updated with the latest IT trends and technologies
o Develop and deliver training programs for end-users on new systems and technologies
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information technology or a related field
· Additional professional certificate in IT is a plus
· At least 5 – 7 years’ experience in IT with a focus on infrastructure management and technical support
· Candidate should be in and around Tema
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
· Strong technical expertise in system and network administration
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
· In-depth knowledge of IT security practices and protocols
· Proficient in project management and able to lead complex IT projects
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and as a team
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Full time position with standard working hours. Occasional overtime may be required
